Synthetic fabrics for filters produced by SAATI ensure very high precision powder filtration operations. These include foodstuffs (flours) and micronisation in pharmaceutical plants. SOME OF OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS OVER THE YEARS

Centrifugal
Sifter.

There are many designs of centrifuge filter in use today mainly in the pharmaceutical, fine & specialty chemicals industries.

  • The inverting filter centrifuge operates semicontinuously and are automatically controlled
  • A rigid filling pipe projects through the solids housing where slurry is discharged into the rotating drum
  • There are distribution bars within the drum which ensure an even 360º spread over the whole surface so that the filter is properly balanced
  • A filter cake of solid material forms at the same time as the filtrate is efficiently discharged – seen in the top diagram
  • When maximum weight within the filter is reached the filling valve closes and filtration continues to the washing stage
  • After the washing stage has finished the filter is run at a speed appropriate to the product for the final dewatering
  • At the conclusion of dewatering the machine decelerates automatically to discharge speed and the drum insert opens in a translatory action and the solid cake is discharged under rotation – seen in the bottom diagram

Powder
Coating.

Screening product for powder coating applications including large rectangular, square screens, and centrifugal screens. These screens can be manufactured in syntethic and carbon-syntethic mesh.
Available edging treatments include heat sealed, sewn edged and polyurethane sealed edge.

Fluid
Bed
Dryer.

Fluid bed drying represents a very effective type of solid drying (-> Drying). The whole surface of each individual particle is available for drying in the flight phase. The heat transfer is excellent and the drying time is ideal. The product is dried gently due to these factors. A homogeneous product temperature and a uniform drying of the starting product are achieved as a result of the continuous and thorough mixing. This cannot always be guaranteed in the case of contact and radiation dryers. In these cases, local hotspots are quite possible. If only a small amount of water is to be evaporated, wet granules can also be dried directly in the Vertical Granulator: Single pot process (-> Wet Granulation in the vertical granulator).
